Chapter 30: Kicks and sealed blocks
Twenty yards of kicks and sealed blocks
A flat yard with a kick budget: shove, let go, and route one or two cars as they roll, like a small hump that runs out.
Sealed blocks are two or three cars coupled as a unit. A pull or shove that would cut between them is refused, and a block is never humped or kicked.
20 yards, pars from 5 to 9 moves. Beside its theme, chapter 30 draws on the hump, open slots and doubled outbounds, with two breathers of plain sorting and extra cars. Difficulty runs as a sawtooth: runs of easy yards, a spike, a breather.
