Chapter 67: Sorting and cabooses
Twenty yards of sorting and cabooses
Every car has a destination and every track an assignment. Pull cuts to the lead, shove them back in the right place, and do it in as few moves as the yard allows.
A caboose rides at the rear of its train, which is the ladder end, so it must be the last car coupled on. It travels with the engine and never goes over the hump.
20 yards, pars from 5 to 15 moves. Beside its theme, chapter 67 draws on hidden waybills, the hump and kicks, with two breathers of plain sorting and extra cars. Difficulty runs as a sawtooth: runs of easy yards, a spike, a breather.
