River Division
Outbounds, hazmat, short power
An outbound train must stand on its departure track in exactly the order the sign gives, ladder end first, so the order you shove cars in is the whole puzzle.
Placarded hazmat cars may not couple directly to the engine, may not be humped and may not be kicked, so they have to travel with a buffer car between them and the power.
The engine carries a tonnage rating. Loaded cars weigh more than empties, and the engine cannot move a cut heavier than its rating, so big pulls have to be broken up.
3 hand-made yards, pars from 6 to 9 moves. Every yard has two challenge variants that open once it is finished at par.
The yards
| # | Yard | Par | The job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Outbound Order | 6 | Build the outbound on Track 1. The pattern under the track shows the order it must stand in. |
| 2 | Hazmat Buffer | 6 | Placarded tank cars may not couple directly to the engine. Find a buffer car first. |
| 3 | Full Shift | 9 | Build the outbound on Track 1 and block the Erie cars on Track 2. Tracks 3 and 4 are yours to work with. |
