Cabooses ride last, never over the hump
A caboose rides at the rear of its train, which is the ladder end, so it must be the last car coupled on. It travels with the engine and never goes over the hump.
4 hand-made yards, pars from 6 to 9 moves. Every yard has two challenge variants that open once it is finished at par.
The yards
| # | Yard | Par | The job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rear Marker | 6 | Every train leaves with its caboose at the rear, and the rear is the ladder end: the caboose is the last car coupled on. Both cabooses are buried under their own cars. Albany on 1, Boston on 2, and a spare track to work with. |
| 2 | Never Over the Hump | 8 | A hump yard, and a caboose rides with the engine: it is never humped. Roll the freight over the crest, then bring each caboose to the rear of its train by hand. Albany on 1, Boston on 2, Concord on 3, Dover on 4. |
| 3 | Kicked Clear | 9 | Three kicks, and the Dover cars go onto the Mill Spur. A caboose is never kicked, so each one has to be dug out and shoved back on last. Albany on 1, Boston on 2. |
| 4 | Markers Out | 9 | The Albany train leaves Track 1 at move 9 with its caboose at the rear, or it does not leave at all. An Albany car and the Concord caboose arrive on Track 3 at move 4. Concord on 2, Boston on 3. |
