Doubling Division
One train across two tracks
An outbound too long for one track leaves in two sections from two tracks. Where the train breaks between them is the player’s choice.
4 hand-made yards, pars from 4 to 8 moves. Every yard has two challenge variants that open once it is finished at par.
The yards
| # | Yard | Par | The job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Two Sections | 4 | One train, two tracks. The outbound Albany, Boston, Boston is longer than either departure track, so it leaves in two sections: the rear section on Track 2, the head section on Track 1. Where it breaks is up to you. |
| 2 | Three Ways | 6 | The outbound Dover, Dover, Albany, Boston leaves in two sections from Tracks 1 and 2, and there are three ways to break it. One of them is two moves better than the others. A spare Albany car is in the way. |
| 3 | Long Train | 8 | Five cars, Boston, Concord, Dover, Albany, Dover, across two three-car tracks. Two cars behind the engine, and the Albany car is on the short track. |
| 4 | Doubled Out | 6 | The outbound Boston, Albany, Boston, Dover leaves at move 7 in two sections, ready or not: the road engine takes the head section off Track 1 and doubles the rear section on from Track 2. |
