Helper Division
A second engine on the far lead
A second switcher works the far lead with its own cut. Either engine can move, changing engines is free, and the two have to hand cars to each other through the tracks.
4 hand-made yards, pars from 6 to 10 moves. Every yard has two challenge variants that open once it is finished at par.
The yards
| # | Yard | Par | The job |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Two Goats | 6 | A second switcher waits on the far lead. Click an engine (or press H) to take it in hand: the helper reaches the deepest cars, the main engine the nearest. Albany on 1, Boston on 2, Concord on 3. |
| 2 | Handover | 6 | Build the outbound Boston, Concord, Albany on Track 1 from the ladder end. Two cars behind each engine, and they must take turns: what one sets down, the other picks up. |
| 3 | Hump and Helper | 7 | A hump yard with a helper on the far lead. Only the main engine can hump, from the near lead; the helper tidies the far ends. Albany on 1, Boston on 2, Concord on 3. |
| 4 | Stub End | 10 | Track 4 hangs off Track 3: only the main engine reaches it, and only while Track 3 holds two cars or fewer. One car behind each engine. Albany on 1, Boston on 2, Concord on 3. |
